The Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala in association with Department of Higher Education formulated the scheme to setup Entrepreneurship Development Club in Colleges in the State to inculcate entrepreneurial culture amongst the youth and equip them with the skills, technique and confidence to act as torch bearers of enterprise for the new generation. St. Joseph’s College also started a unit in 2003-04, with the mission to create wealth and employment commensurate with unlimited natural and human resource potential of Kerala by developing entrepreneurship among the youth studying in the college.
The objectives of the Club:
- To inculcate social virtues ie, trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline and honesty as constituents of entrepreneurship
- To sensitise students on the real economic and industrial development of the State
- To make the students aware of the unlimited development potential of the State and
- To inculcate entrepreneurial culture among the students through the Club and aims at nurturing the entrepreneurial talents of its members
